The University of California and the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees union reached a tentative contract agreement early Thursday morning, shortly after a systemwide open-ended strike was scheduled to begin.
We respect our employees' rights to representation and freedom of speech. At UCSF, we have a responsibility to serve the needs of our community in support of our health care, education, and research missions. Although UCSF is taking steps to minimize disruptions to services during the strike, we expect that some services will be affected as a result.
Our top priority is to ensure the safety and security of the entire UCSF community and the continuity of its operations.
Please refer to this page for updates on the expected impact of the strike on health, education, and research services.
